Summa House

Summa House is one of Australia's most recognised hospitality and entertainment venues. When they entered a new chapter, they needed a brand that could carry the weight of what they were becoming. September built it from the ground up.

ABOUT

In 2022 Summa House partnered with September to begin a complete cultural reset. The brief was clear. Build a brand that could operate at scale across nightlife, premium corporate experiences and brand partnerships, while staking a serious claim in the market. This wasn't a refresh. It was a reinvention.

The rebrand required more than a visual update. Summa House needed to shift public perception from its former identity into something sharper, more elevated and future focused. The challenge was to create a cohesive brand system that could flex across international DJ bookings, large scale weekly events, branded activations and corporate takeovers without losing consistency or cultural credibility. It had to feel aspirational yet accessible, bold yet commercially viable, with enough strength to anchor high volume foot traffic and national attention. We continue to this day with Summa House advising and developing promotions, events, graphic design and business development.

SCOPE

Our work spanned the full brand build. Visual identity, tone of voice, digital platforms, in-venue environments, event design, branded activations and corporate campaign development. Every element designed to feel energetic, premium and instantly recognisable across every touchpoint. We continue to work with Summa House today, advising across promotions, events, design, photography and business development.

Development was centered around scale and cultural impact. We built the Summa House identity from the ground up, defining its tone, visual language and positioning to work seamlessly across digital platforms, in venue environments and external brand collaborations. Every element was designed to feel energetic, premium and instantly recognisable, giving the venue a clear and confident presence across all touchpoints.

SUMMARY

Summa House is now more than a nightlife venue. It is a cultural platform, consistently drawing crowds of over 900 every Saturday, hosting international talent and running one of the most recognised bottomless brunch concepts in the country. The brand holds authority in its category and sets the pace rather than follows it. For September, this is what strategic branding looks like when it works.

For us at September, this project was an opportunity to lead a full scale transformation and demonstrate how strategic branding can shift perception, drive demand and build a venue into a cultural mainstay.
